At SALT you can grill your own meal over the flames around the campfire. From our campfire menu (BÅL) you can choose between lamb, reindeer sausages, vegetables or cheeses from different parts of Norway – a “Nordic tapas” menu. Also try the dessert, marshmallow, cranberry and brown cheese – it’s a winner.

If you want to go for something more traditional, you can try out our street food menu of burgers, pizza, chicken bowl – or Shiitake reindeer miso soup .

We are open every day, all year round.

The Cheese Box

The Cheese Box has flavors from the coastal climate of Jæren, Inderøy in Trøndelag and Hattfjelldal, the mountain village in the heart of "wild Helgeland" in the northern Norway.

This is a Norwegian style BÅL-raclette (“Campfire Raclette”) with locally sourced cheeses and ingredients that taste delicious when grilled over the fire.

• Fried cheese from Trofors: Similar to Halloumi, perfect for grilling on the fire!

• Jærsk havsletteost: A soft cheese with a taste of the sea

• Camembert from Gangstad farm - white mold cheese that melts perfectly over the fire.

• Potatoes - sweet and juicy, ideal for hot cheeses

The Meat Box

The Meat Box pays tribute to Norway’s rich tradition of smoked sausages – both as flavor and as a method of preservation. Here you’ll taste specialties from across the country, made from the animals that have shaped Norwegian food culture for generations.

Contents of the Meat Box:

·       Reindeer sausage from Røros: Hot-smoked, with a mild, slightly sweet game flavor. Ready for the grill.

·       Game sausage from Albert Idsøe in Stavanger: A perfect combination of moose and pork, delicious with pickled onion and mustard.

·       Lamb sausage: Made from Norwegian lamb grazing between fjords and mountains, with a rich and aromatic taste.

Accompaniments: Coarse mustard, ketchup, pickled onion, and cowboy candy (sweet pickled chili).

Everything can be grilled just the way you like it – lightly warmed or charred over coals – and enjoyed with or without flatbread (lompe).

The Vegetable Box

The Vegetable Box celebrates the season of fresh potatoes and early harvests – when everything is extra sweet, crisp, and full of flavor. The best vegetables of the season become even better with a touch of heat and smoke from the grill. Contents of the Vegetable Box (varies by season):

Dessert Box

The Dessert Box offers s’mores – the Norwegian way. A warm, gooey finale were sweet meets tart and crunchy, perfect over the grill. We know you gonna dig it!

Contents of the Dessert Box:

·       Marshmallows: Grill until golden and soft.

·       Oat biscuits: Crispy cookies that add the perfect crunch.

·       Brown cheese (brunost): A Norwegian twist that brings both sweetness and a hint of tang.

·       ‘Troll cream’: Sour cream mixed with lingonberries.

Spread it on the biscuit, press it all together – and enjoy. A guaranteed grill favorite.
